Swimming: Koch makes titles clear over 200 m breaststroke

Marco Koch and Sven Schwarz as well as Zoe Vogelmann and Julia Mrozinski each swam to German championship titles in Berlin.

World-class swimmer Marco Koch secured the German championship title in the 200-meter breaststroke at the finals in Berlin on Saturday (25.06.22). The man from Frankfurt narrowly prevailed against Philip Brandt from Hanover. Yanis Merlin Willim from Leipzig swam in third place.

The favorite Sven Schwarz won the 1500 m freestyle ahead of Henning Mühlleitner and Mahoud Ahmed. David Thomasberger secured the title in the 200m butterfly ahead of Yannick Plasil and Aaron Schmidt. Alexander Bauch is German champion over 50 m backstroke. Best over 200 freestyle was Timo Sorgius, who snatched the gold medal from Poul Zellmann and Cedric Büssing.

Vogelmann winner in the 200 m distance

The fastest in the 200m individual medley was Zoe Vogelmann ahead of Kellie Messel and Giulia Goerigk. Sonele Öztürk from Berlin won the 200m individual medley ahead of Laura Riedemann and Jenny Mensing. Julia Mrozinski is the name of the new German champion over 200 meters freestyle. The Hamburg native finished ahead of Nicole Maier and Chiara Klein.

Nina Sandrine Jazy (50 m freestyle) triumphed on the short distances, Ira Helene Hünnebeck was the fastest over 50 m butterfly, and Nele Schulze (Flensburg) completed the bru distance in the shortest time.
