After a two-year break due to corona, today is Dutch Veterans Day. Out of appreciation I, like many others, pin the white carnation on. This was the symbol of resistance during the Second World War and was worn by Prince Bernhard. The low-scented flower has become a symbol of respect and appreciation for veterans.
