Maxime Meiland deliberately did not apologize to Anna Nooshin for spreading lies. “That’s stupid too, isn’t it? I mean, what does that even say? What is the value of that?”
Anna Nooshin has been struggling for years with the image of someone who is very fake is. It therefore hit her hard that Maxime Meiland, whom she received in her then gossip show on YouTube at the end of 2019, lashed out at her in the biography of her father Martien. “I can hardly estimate whether celebrities are real or fake,” he says.
lying Maxime
Maxime immediately responds with Anna’s name: “I can do better. I once had an interview with Anna Nooshin. Very nice girl, but she immediately texts with: ‘Oh, it was great!’ And I love you!’ etc. And then I immediately think: girl, that is not necessary again.”
It turns out to be a gross lie: Anna never texted it. When confronted with this, Maxime shouted that it was made up by this site. Another lie: Anna soon found out that Maxime did say that in the book. Maxime suggested to rectify her statements, but that intention also turned out to be a lie.
‘Not well thought out’
Maxime is now being questioned about this by Robbert Rodenburg, Anna’s best friend. “This is one that I have not thought about carefully,” admits the Meiland daughter in his talk show Back To Then†
Why did she talk so badly about Anna? “We were still living in France at the time, we were sitting at a table and Jan (Dijkgraaf, the biographer, ed.) asked me: ‘If you have to name someone you don’t like that is well known, who would it be? ?’ Then I had to think for a long time anyway, because I mean: I hardly know any people who are famous.”
‘Floped it out’
Then she called Anna’s name. “Anna is… Look, I think it’s a treasure. I mean, it’s your best friend, so I mean, it has to be. I don’t know. Maybe that was a feeling. I just blurted it out. I do regret that.”
Why did Maxime lie about the app traffic with Anna? She never said ‘I love you’. “No. I was kind of surprised about that too, because I always had it that way in my head.”
No excuses
Maxime never apologized. “I was thinking about it recently after that interview (from Anna, ed.), from: ‘Shall I text her again that it hadn’t been nice of me to say that and that I’m sorry?’ But then I thought: yes, I’m coming. That’s stupid too, isn’t it? I mean, what does that even say? What is the value of that? You know.”
She says she really regrets it. “Of course, because I notice that it really bothers her and I think that’s bad for her. That’s what I think: how stupid? Why did I say that? How stupid of me? That’s not nice at all. That’s not fun at all. So I do regret that, yes.”
Thick skin
Finally: “I also feel so bad for her that she attracts it so much, that she finds it so bad. I didn’t expect that at all. Then I think: you’ve been known for so long, don’t you get a thick skin?”
