Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu made statements on his social media account about the achievements of national athletes in the first six months of 2022.
Minister Kasapoğlu said that in the first half of 2022, national athletes won 621 gold, 695 silver and 916 bronze medals in 34 different branches.
Explaining about the 2232 medals received, Minister Kasapoğlu said, “There is a very planned work behind these achievements. We built our system on 4 main axes. How? Our aim is a Turkey that has made sports an invariable part of its life. We collect the first data by talent screening in the 3rd grade. We direct our athletes to SEM and TOHMs for the elite level. We eliminate the dilemma of sports or education. We put the National Athlete Scholarship into action. We also introduce the National Athlete Scholarship of our athletes as well as their families in the process. We are a big family with our Ministry, federation, athletes and trainers. The number of licensed athletes has exceeded 11 million. The system is working correctly, success is coming. We will continue,” he said.
