Tropical warm in part of the country on Thursday, but short-lived summer weather | NOW

Temperatures could reach 30 degrees in some parts of the country again on Thursday. Temperatures will also rise to summer highs on Wednesday. According to Weerplaza, it is only a “short but powerful period with high temperatures”.

Less than a week after the temperature rose above 30 degrees in much of the country, it is warming again. “Wednesday and Thursday will be summer days”, Roosmarijn Knol of Weerplaza explains. “But I don’t see heat wave-like scenes and extreme heat happening so soon.”

The temperature is expected to rise gradually. That will start on Wednesday, with temperatures of 25 to 28 degrees in the interior. The sun is already shining brightly.

A southeast wind ensures that it can become tropical warm on Thursday. The mercury is likely to rise to 30 degrees only in the east and southeast. It remains 24 degrees cooler on the Wadden Islands. In the Randstad, temperatures remain at 26 or 27 degrees.

Heat closed with showers

According to Knol, it can feel sweltering on Thursday due to high humidity. The chance of thunderstorms also increases in the afternoon. This can include spicy specimens with hail and gusts of wind.

We will see more showers on Friday. “Friday will really be a transition day.” After that, temperatures drop again to around 20 degrees, the normal value for the time of year.
