Obasuyi’s athletics summer in danger

The Ostend hurdle specialist suffered a serious calf injury during the warm-up of a meeting in Madrid. After examination it turned out to be a muscle tear. Obasuyi is therefore sidelined for six weeks, and may make a cross over the World Championships in Eugene. He had not yet been selected for that, but thanks to the World Rankings he was already close.

Obasuyi hopes to get ready for the European championship, which will take place in Munich in August. He reacts disappointed on Instagram. “This is a big downer because I felt ready to show the progress I’ve made on the track.”
