Things are going better for ‘Farmer Seeks Woman’ farmer Jan: “He can walk again”

Despite the long rehabilitation process, he is positive and can walk again, he tells in an interview The Telegraph At the end of April, his wife Rianne gave an update about his muscle disease.

Long rehabilitation for farmer Jan

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a muscle disease that can develop within 24 hours and causes severe paralysis symptoms. “The average Guillain-Barré patient has reached the lowest point after four weeks, but with Jan it was only after six weeks,” says his wife Rianne. In the end it took about three months before Jan was back home with his family, because he had to learn to walk again.

Walking independently again

Since Jan was discharged from the rehabilitation center, he is recovering well. He was still walking with a walker when he left the center, but not long after that he started walking with crutches because of his balance and now he can walk independently again. Although he can now walk again, he is not yet the old one, because the strength in his legs has to be built up again. He also takes medication to combat the nerve pains, but fortunately the treatment is working well and Jan is delighted with his health.
