With their second place, Wendl/Arlt kept the Latvians Andris and Juris Sics at a distance in terms of the overall ranking. “So we can now travel to Beijing with confidence”said Eggert.
Benecken is aiming for a podium finish there: “It doesn’t matter what the color of the medal is at the end. Even without gold, our career is pretty well rounded, but when I look at both doubles games, I have to say: we’ve never had such a strong German team as we are at the moment. If we’re both on the podium in Beijing, we’ll sign it.”
