Verstappen starts from pole position in Canadian GP

Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen will start from pole position in the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday. The Dutch world champion was by far the fastest in qualifying on Saturday.

Sergio Pérez, Verstappen’s Mexican teammate at Red Bull, crashed into the wall in the second phase of qualifying and dropped out. He does not appear to have sustained any injuries from the incident.

Due to grid penalties, Charles Leclerc, one of the attackers of Verstappen in the battle for the world title, will start from last place on Sunday.
