A thief apparently didn’t look closely when he broke into a car on Tauentzienstrasse on Thursday.

It was just before 5 p.m. when the man entered a car parked there. The driver’s side window was down because an eight-year-old was waiting in the back seat for her parents to return.

The thief apparently did not notice the girl when the door opened through the open window and took a seat in the driver’s seat. According to the police, he then searched the center console and the glove compartment and took two pairs of sunglasses.

When he turned around, he saw the girl and snatched a phone from her hand. The stranger then fled in the direction of Breitscheidplatz. The little one got away with a fright.
