An accident in Madrid leaves a woman dead and two seriously injured

A 42-year-old driver has died and her 7-year-old daughter has been seriously injured, as has another 59-year-old woman., in a head-on collision between a car and an intercity bus in the municipality of Los Santos de la Humosa, east of Madrid. In the traffic accident, six other bus passengers have been injured, according to sources from Emergencies 112 of the Community of Madrid.

The incident took place at kilometer 2 of the M-235 highway, a two-way road on the border between Madrid and the province of Guadalajara, in Castilla La Mancha. For causes under investigation, at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday a car and a bus collided head-on inter-urban bus of the Madrid Transport Consortium that provides service to the line that connects these municipalities.

The 42-year-old driver of the car was killed in the accident and her 7-year-old daughter who was with her “potentially seriously” injured. 12 people were traveling on the bus, of whom 7 were injured: six of a minor nature and one, 59 years old, potentially serious. All the wounded were transferred to various health centers by SUMMA112 and the Red Cross.

The firefighters of the Community of Madrid had to intervene in the incident to free the bus driver and help the rest of the passengers to get out.
