Two million euros for regional channels to go even more digital

In this way, the media minister supports the regional editorial teams to keep up with the most important digital evolutions. He therefore reserves two million euros for them from the recovery plan. The regional channels themselves also put half a million on the table.

Benjamin Dalle, Flemish media minister: “We notice that young people often no longer watch live television. You notice that a third of young people no longer even take out a television subscription when they start living alone. But they are still very interested are in that local, regional news. And that has to be digitally via applications, via the internet. Via social media. And we also want to invest extra in that.”
