The two sailors who died this Wednesday in the ISeychelles after an explosion aboard the Albacora Cuatro, a tuna vessel based in Vigowere the only two Spaniards of the crewas confirmed this Thursday by the Xunta de Galicia.

The Galician president, Alfonso Rueda, has lamented the accident and has sent his condolences to the families of the deceased, both residents of the community, while asking for the causes of the accident to be clarified.

Seven other sailors, who were slightly injured in the explosion, have already been discharged from hospital and a crew member remains hospitalized with respiratory failure, according to the Organization of Associated Producers of Large Freezer Tuna Vessels (Opagac).

The Albacora Cuatro, a tuna vessel belonging to the European Tuna Company, based in Vigo, was in Port Victoriabase of operations for the fishing grounds where he usually fishes, undergoing maintenance work, when the explosion took place.
