The long-awaited national team tournament for the best players in the world, hockey fans, is likely to be seen in less than two years.

– The NHL is very optimistic that it will be able to host the Ice Hockey World Cup in February 2024, NHL Vice-Commissioner Bill Daly said on Wednesday in Denver before the first final of the Stanley Cup between Colorado Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lightning.

– It’s under construction. We have been discussing with the Players Association (NHLPA) for several months now and we have also been involved in these discussions with the International Hockey Federation (IIHF).

Daly admits On the NHL websitethat the new timing of the tournament, played earlier in the early fall, will pose challenges for its organization.

– However, we are very optimistic that we will be able to organize the tournament in 2024, so we look forward to it.

Commissioner Gary Bettman added that the NHL is planning the tournament in the long term and plans to hold it regularly.

Super lions

No NHL players were seen at the 2018 Olympics or this year due to a pandemic, so it’s time for the previous top national team tournament. Canada last won the World Cup in September 2016.

Also the top names of the younger generation, such as Anton Lundell, Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Kaapo Kakko had time to mature to compete for front-line roles in the Lions World Cup lineup.

Goalkeepers can probably be found in the names Hair Saros, Ville Husso, Kaapo Kähkönen and Kevin Lankinen.
