An employee was injured in a robbery at a hotel on Lindengracht on Wednesday night. The employee was beaten with a firearm and suffered minor injuries. The assailants made off with an undisclosed amount of money. The police have not arrested anyone yet.
The robbery happened around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Three suspects walked into the hotel, where a hotel guest was also present in addition to the employee. One suspect threatened the employee with a firearm and then hit him on the head. The slightly injured employee was treated at the scene by paramedics.
The victims fled in a car after grabbing the loot. Not much later, the police found the suspected getaway car on the Eva Besnyöstraat in IJburg. A search for the perpetrators turned up nothing. The car has been impounded.
