After the departure of the premium fashion fair, Frankfurt is opting for a fashion week this year. More than 100 events are planned throughout Frankfurt for the fashion week from June 20 to 26, said the Frankfurt economic department head Stephanie Wüst (FDP) on Tuesday. Among other things, the regional fashion and design scene is to be promoted.
The city of Frankfurt supports the event with 750,000 euros. The focus should be on the topic of “sustainability”. The “Fair Fashion Days” are also held at the same time, in which everyday work in the textile industry is dealt with.
The fashion fair Premium announced earlier this year that it was returning from Frankfurt to Berlin. It only moved to the Main metropolis in 2020, but due to the corona it was never held there as planned. Instead of large trade fairs and many glamorous runways, there were only digital offers, exhibitions and isolated shows. (dpa)
