This will be in the old building of the Greek in the Dorpsstraat

In 2021, Greek restaurant Odysseus Palace left the Dorpsstraat after years. All those months the building stood empty and people wondered: what would come there? In the meantime we have spoken to the new tenant.

Around October, Nathalie Kaffa-Odijk (27) from Zoetermeer will open a childcare center. Before that time, the former building of the Greek has to be extensively renovated.

Anthroposophical childcare

Nathalie is a mother, child coach and parent counselor and she has eighteen years of experience in childcare. In the Dorpsstraat she makes her dream come true with her own anthroposophical daycare center. “There is a free primary school in Zoetermeer, but no childcare in the field of anthroposophy yet. Children between 0 and 4 years can play freely and learn through play. They are allowed to help with daily chores such as cooking, folding laundry and in the garden. We go outside a lot and live with the seasons. Anthroposophy is a philosophy in which people and nature are central.”

Close to home

In total, two groups of sixteen children are welcome at Kinderopvang Van Nature. During the renovation, the space will be made kid-proof. The garden will be fenced and inside will be a play area. Natural materials predominate. Nathalie: “A silent wish of mine is coming true. It didn’t really matter to me which city I could have started my childcare in. I could never have imagined that it is now possible at this attractive location, and that only ten minutes from my house.”
