Around 8 p.m. tonight, a man was found dead in a ditch on the Achterstraat in Noord-Scharwoude. A police spokesperson said that the person had been resuscitated, but it was found that the man had already died.
Little is known at this time about how the man got into the ditch. The man was found in the ditch behind a row of houses.
Emergency services arrived and a diving team was deployed to retrieve the man from the water. An air ambulance was also called in. “A death investigation is currently underway and we will investigate this matter further,” a police spokesman said.
