It is a familiar image: with a beer in the grass, listening to music in the sun. That’s exactly how things are going at the Grote Rietplas in Emmen today, where the Hello Festival is in full swing.
“It’s fun here,” says one of the fifteen thousand visitors. “I’m looking forward to the atmosphere, the music and the beer,” adds another visitor.
Organizer Richard de Groot also walks around with a radiant smile: “It’s the best festival weather you can get.” He admits that it takes some getting used to after two years of absence. “But nice to do again.”
There are also innovations. For example, the main stage is no longer in the open air, but in a tent. A stage will be transformed into a movie house, which visitors can watch with headphones. And the festival has gone from two days to one day.
