Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in a letter invited his British counterpart Ben Wallace to Moscow. So he responded to Wallace’s invitation to visit London to discuss the situation around Ukraine, reported on Facebook of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“Sergey Shoigu confirmed to his British counterpart his readiness to discuss all pressing security issues and, based on the principles of reciprocity, offered to hold talks in Moscow, at any time convenient for the British Minister of Defense,” the message says.

Shoigu said in a letter that the resumption of contacts in the spirit of goodwill between Russia and the UK would help reduce tensions in Europe. He added that in 2013 in London, the parties demonstrated “the possibility of a constructive dialogue” during the visit of the Russian delegation, when negotiations were held between the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs in the “2 + 2” format.
