NPO series Flikken Maastricht won the prize ‘Favorite Series of 2022’ on Wednesday evening. The program managed to get the most votes from the public during the Guidinc. Streaming Video Awards 2022.
Since 2020, this organization has been presenting various awards in the media world every year.
Audience votes
Flikken Maastricht has been awarded for its 16th season and has won with the most public votes. Other candidates were Bridgerton (Netflix series) and Mocro Mafia (Videoland series). The award ceremony took place at the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision in Hilversum.

Other winners include the Disney film Encanto and streaming service Netflix. The award for best newcomer went to HBO MAX. The makers of Flikken Maastricht thank the fans for voting on social media. They also show the won award.
16th season
Although the series manages to reach an audience of millions every year, actress Angela Write does not yet know how long she wants to continue doing it. “Let’s be honest, Flikken Maastricht, that has been under my skin for 16 years. You have to keep tickling yourself,” says Schijf. “I sometimes think: how long am I going to do this? Or am I going to keep this up? As long as it’s fun and I always look at it per question,” Schijf recently told RTL Boulevard.

The first episode of Flikken Maastricht, in September 2007 on TROS on NPO 1, attracted almost 1.3 million viewers. There are now more than two million per episode and an average of 350,000 online viewers are added after the TV broadcast.
In 2014, Flikken Maastricht won the Gouden Televizier-Ring for best TV program.
