Cycling, granfondo, gravel, Feltre: Sportful Dolomiti cyclists

The Belluno city is once again a cult place for cyclists. Saturday we start with two paths on the dirt road. On the 19th the hardest Granfondo in Europe and on the 24-25 the “24 Hours of Feltre” with Bettini, Pozzato and Cassani

Feltre is done in three. This weekend the triptych of racing for amateurs in the Dolomites will begin, with interesting news and pleasant confirmations. It starts on Saturday with the Sportful Dolomiti Gravel, which winks at fans of a fast-growing discipline also in Europe, after the boom in the United States. Sunday 19th will be the turn of the Sportful Dolomiti Race, reference point of the Granfondo, while on 24th and 25th June the “24 Hours of Feltre” will be held.

SPORTFUL DOLOMITI GRAVEL The big news this year is the Sportful Dolomiti gravel race. Scheduled for Saturday 11 June, the new competition dedicated to lovers of dirt roads and dirt roads will take place on two different routes in the Belluno area, both with start and finish in Feltre. The Sportful Dolomiti Gravel will lead amateurs to discover the naturalistic beauties of the area, on challenging and stimulating routes.

Cyclists can choose which route to try their hand at: the Bubu route measures 59.5 km, for a total altitude difference of 900 meters, while the Yoghi, much more demanding, reaches 163.8 km with a total altitude difference of 2400 meters. Registration is open up to half an hour before departure, which will take place from 8 to 9 for the Yogi route and from 9 to 11 for the Bubu. Participants will be divided into groups of up to 30 cyclists, divided into blocks that will leave every 5 or 10 minutes.

SPORTFUL DOLOMITI RACE

The toughest Granfondo in Europe, now in its 27th edition, is getting ready more beautiful than ever for Sunday 19 June. After the splendid edition of the rebirth last year, the Sportful Dolomiti Race is ready to color the climbs and descents of the Unesco heritage area, with two routes: the Granfondo, 204 km with 4900 meters of total altitude difference and the efforts of Cima Campo , Passo Manghen, Passo Rolle and Croce d’Aune, and the Mediofondo, 120 km with 3200 meters of altitude, without facing the terrible Passo Manghen. Those interested in registering can directly access the appropriate section of the site. Last year almost 3000 enthusiasts took part in one of the biggest and most satisfying efforts of the entire amateur cycling scene.

THE 24 HOURS OF FELTRE – The June of emotions and efforts will end on the 24th and 25th with the “24 Hours of Feltre”, the spectacular team endurance race along the route in the city. At 9pm on Friday the first athletes of each formation will start, ready to tackle the short but intense 1,850-meter track, with the Campogiorno climb, the slight slope of via Campo Mosto and the technical descent to the straight of via Marconi, the stretch in pavé is the starting point. All in very little space, but repeated for a whole day. Many VIPs expected at the start, starting with the Olympic road cycling champion Paolo Bettini, the winner of a Milan-Sanremo Filippo Pozzato, the former national team coach Davide Cassani and the Olympic champion of artistic gymnastics Jury Chechi. The winning team will be announced at 9 pm on Saturday 25 June, after 24 hours of hard work, entertainment and satisfaction. Registration is open until June 15, to take part in a unique event of its kind.
