(Again) no Evening4Days in Assen: Emmaschool keeps its own course

The organization of the Evening4Daagse in Assen put an end to the walking festival quite early this year due to possible measures (and therefore difficulties in organizing) around corona. That meant no four days for the third consecutive year. The Emmaschool in Assen then decided to set up its own walking event for the students.

Last Wednesday it happened. The 334 children of the school went – colorfully dressed, entirely in the atmosphere of the final stage of the regular four days – in and around the Asserbos. The students from groups 1 to 5 walked from the start/finish spot, Stadspaviljoen Het Hofhuys, the ‘yellow route’ (1.5 kilometers), the children from groups 6 to 8 followed the ‘purple route’ (5 kilometers). ) off. After the tour, the award ceremony awaited, in the form of a delicious ice cream from Demi Gelati, the ice cream shop on Koopmansplein, who had come to the alternative Emma loop by cart. Hans Plaggemars on behalf of the parent council of the Emmaschool: ‘With the Emmaloop we hope not only to establish a new tradition, but also to keep an existing tradition alive among the children. Because they have had to do without the Evening4Daagse for three years in a row now.’
