Samuel Purola was unable to put combs for foreign reinforcements in Espoo.
– It felt really good in the warm-up. When the starting gun slammed in, I was right in the yard, Samuel Purola sighed at Leppävaara’s summer evening.
Purola finished fourth in the Espoo GP with 200 meters. Above were two Britons and one Jamaican.
The victory was taken by a record 20.68 runs Andrew Morgan-Harrison.
Purola’s time was 20.93. The Finnish runner’s own record of 20.74 would have been enough for second place on Wednesday.
– I never really got caught running. It was from start to finish with an even thick twist. There was no ease or relaxation at all. I don’t know where. I just didn’t get anything out of it, Purola regretted.
– I went to look for a completely different time. I can’t say I’m happy.
In February, Purola clocked the new 200-year-old Finnish hall record of 21.09. A record of 20.74 outdoor tracks was set at the end of May in Lahti.
The runner in Oulu is satisfied with his development.
– The properties have clearly moved forward since last spring. When the right day happens, times are in a different order. I know where I would be fine in this condition.
Purola believes that its own record may soon improve. The Finnish record is Tommi Hartosen 20.47.
– If the conditions are the same as in Lahti and the process is similar, but the technical stuff works, a tenth or two can leave my record.
– There were no conditions or conditions in Espoo, the man did not succeed. When there are enough of these opportunities, there will be one success.
The beanie stays
PASSI FLAME
During the training season, Purola paid attention to the economy and relaxation of the run. The main sport is 200 meters.
He is aiming for the Munich European Championships in August.
– For the sake of ranking, we are inside the time. Can concentrate on being there.
Although the season has changed, Purola will not give up its trademark. Regardless of the weather, there is a beanie on the head.
Now an ad has also appeared on the hat. Was it easy to sell the logo on the beanie of the runner chasing SE?
– I have hair in such dimensions that a beanie can control it. Is it more streamlined. I haven’t been able to go to the barber shop, the runner dodges with a laugh.
Purola will compete next time in Paavo Nurmi Games. The distance is a hundred meters.
