Opinion | The Sign – NRC

Five years after my major surgery, I am able to jog again. My old round. See how long I can last. Already after five minutes I start shaking and sweating and panting. I am getting scared. Then suddenly beautiful little pigeons appear on my path from left and right. They flutter in front of me and sometimes even land at my feet. Very special. This is a sign, I think, and take courage to carry on. I even catch up with an older man. And I see him scatter breadcrumbs from a paper bag onto the path.
