Omroep Assen moved from the ICO building to the RTV Drenthe building at 30 Beilerstraat on 1 May. There, the local broadcaster has been given a new, modern studio and editorial room.
Ger de Vos, chairman of the board of Omroep Assen, is very happy with the move. ‘After a number of difficult years, Omroep Assen has embarked on a new path. A new organization, a new board and now also a new studio make it possible to expand the program offer. And radio can be made in a more professional way.’
New website and cable newspaper
In addition, Omroep Assen is working on a new website and the cable newspaper is also being renewed. De Vos: ‘STILA has also made it possible for Omroep Assen to have access to a bus that can be used as a mobile studio for activities from various locations. This includes broadcasts of events, from community centers and sports activities.’

One of the target groups that Omroep Assen will focus on are young people. De Vos: ‘Through programs that are specifically aimed at young people. Because yes, whoever has the youth has the future. And that also applies to Omroep Assen. That concerns both the employees and the listeners.’
