Observation post Ramskapelle opens to the public after 20 years

During the First World War, Belgian soldiers were housed in the bunker near Ramskapelle station near Nieuwpoort to keep an eye on the enemy lines. As a result of ‘Bunker Weekend’, it will open its doors today and tomorrow. A unique opportunity for the residents, who have been cycling along here for years on the old railway embankment.

The bunker will be open for another day on Sunday and then close again for a year. The station cafe is also reopening to the public after 108 years. Visitors can view the site from 11 am to 6 pm and enjoy a refreshing drink after a long bike ride.
