Crisis at Karlsruher SC: After a large number of corona infections, the second division club wants to cancel the upcoming game against Sandhausen – and announces details of the findings.
16 players and four coaches at Karlsruher SC tested positive for the corona virus in PCR tests. The second division team from Baden will therefore apply to the German Football League (DFL) this Friday for the game against SV Sandhausen planned for Sunday to be cancelled. The KSC announced this on Thursday evening.
Apart from players and supervisors, four people from the functional team were also affected. All those involved with symptoms are doing well under the circumstances, the club said, pointing out that the vaccination rate was 100 percent. The club is in discussion with the Karlsruhe Health Department about further measures. As a precaution, a PCR test will be carried out again on Friday for all people who tested negative.
On Wednesday, the KSC had already announced that it would suspend training as a precaution. The club, which had entered the DFB Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday with a 1-0 (0-0) win at third division club TSV 1860 Munich, did not name the names of those affected.
