Accidents and Pentecost traffic cause great crowds on Dutch roads | NOW

Holiday drivers in combination with accidents have caused great crowds on Dutch roads in the run-up to the Whitsun weekend. Around 4.40 pm there were about 150 traffic jams with a total length of 825 kilometers, the ANWB reports. That is much more than usual on a Friday afternoon.

A spokesperson said it was busy on the roads in the east, such as the A50 and A73. Traffic also has to take delays into account on roads from Utrecht to the south.

It is not only busier on the road due to holiday traffic, there have also been several accidents. For example, there is a lot of delay on the A15 around the Gorinchem junction due to a serious accident in which two were seriously injured. Parts of the road will probably be closed for a large part of the evening as a result.

Here you will find the current traffic information.
