The Rolling Stones are on tour again: on June 1st they celebrated the start of the European part of their “Sixty” tour in Madrid to mark the 60th anniversary of the band’s founding. Guitarist Ronnie Wood already talked about the last tour in an interview – but then backtracked a bit: “Well, every tour is the last. You never know what will happen next.” The upcoming shows in Munich (June 5, 20022) and Gelsenkirchen (July 27, 2022) may be one of the last opportunities to see the Stones live in Germany.

In the meantime, the Rolling Stones have already landed in Munich with a Boeing 767 that was rented especially for the tour. The Stones even put their famous tongue out logo on the plane. “Picture” would also like to have found out that Mick Jagger (78), guitarists Keith Richards (78) and Ron Wood (75) are staying in the Munich “Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten” until the concert – and that in 50 rooms.

Rolling Stones: Yoga exercises in the workout room

What do the Stones need all the rooms for? According to the British “Sun” the rock musicians have high standards. Among other things, they need a workout room in which they can prepare for the strenuous shows with yoga exercises. An insider told the newspaper:

The Stones are like a well-oiled machine, running like clockwork on stage. To achieve that, they run the shop behind the scenes. Mick trains with his personal trainer before every show, so they have a fully equipped workout room ready for him. And Ronnie and Keith have a special ‘tuning room’ where they jam together.”

So well prepared, nothing should go wrong at the upcoming Stones concerts. In any case, despite their old age, they really delivered in Madrid. The show lasted more than 135 minutes, in which the Stones not only played their biggest hits, such as “Paint It Black” or “Satisfaction”, but also surprised with the live debut of “Out of Time” from 1966. And it also got emotional: Mick Jagger commemorated Rolling Stone drummer Chalie Watts, who died in August 2021 at the age of 80. Mick exclaimed in a silent moment of the show: “It’s our first European tour without Charlie, we miss him a lot”.
