The table tennis ladies of the TTC Berlin Eastside are aiming for the twelfth semi-final of the Champions League in a row.
After the 3-0 win in the first leg against the Czech champions SKST Hodonin in the second leg on Friday in the Freizeitforum Marzahn (women’s sports hall, 6 p.m.), the defending champions have fought for an optimal basis.
“We don’t want to calculate, we also want to win the second leg,” said Eastside manager Andreas Hain.
In contrast to the first leg, coach Irina Palina can fall back on number 1 Xiaona Shan, who was absent in the first leg. The 39-year-old had been in contact with a person who had tested positive the previous weekend, so Eastside had decided against the top player out of fear of a possible corona infection.
