ANWB expects busy evening rush hour on Friday due to Pentecost weekend | Inland

For the rest of the weekend, traffic jams are expected in the direction of events, theme parks and outlet centers. There are, for example, the Whitsun races on the Zandvoort circuit, an Eleven Cities Cycling Tour in Friesland and the North Sea Regatta in Scheveningen.

Also Monday, on Whit Monday, the ANWB expects a lot of traffic on the road due to returning holidaymakers. It will be especially slow driving towards Germany on the A1, A12 and A67. In the course of Monday evening it will be busy in the center of the country and from Zeeland.

Last Wednesday, before the Ascension weekend, there was the busiest evening rush of the year, with more than 1120 kilometers of slow-moving traffic. This means that the number of traffic jams around Ascension Day was comparable to the time before corona.

Arnoud Broekhuis of the ANWB explains why it is much busier on the road since the pandemic seems to have passed.
