With its fashion installation on Tuesday evening, January 18, 2022, Neonyt brought the fashion industry together for the first time during Frankfurt Fashion Week in the Main metropolis. The guests were part of an exclusive presentation of carefully curated multi-brand looks – always under the sign of sustainability.
A successful start: On Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, Neonyt, community platform for fashion, sustainability and innovation, celebrated its debut at 5:30 p.m. in the new home base Frankfurt am Main after a two-year break due to corona. In the course of the Frankfurt Fashion Week (FFW), the Atelier Lihotzky in Gdansk on the square in Frankfurt’s Ostend became a stage. The event was supported by the natural cosmetics brand Dr. Hauschka. Rhein-Main local colour: Fashion people and sustainability professionals, industry insiders as well as stakeholders from politics and the media came together under the currently applicable Corona rules to be inspired by the latest trends in sustainable fashion and finally to get together personally again meet, exchange and connect with each other. Independent and newcomer labels met established brands and designer pieces, which were artistically staged on thirteen models in stylishly curated multi-brand looks.
“Finally getting together again, finally experiencing sustainable fashion live and in color again – we’ve been waiting for this for a long time. And what can I say, our expectations were exceeded: the first Neonyt installation was a complete success. From the participating brands to the artistic concept, the audience and our location – everything was just right. Above all, I am pleased that after a long break we were able to offer the industry a meeting place to inspire and connect again, albeit on a smaller scale,” says Bettina Bär, Show Director Neonyt. “After this kick-off in our new home in Frankfurt, I am certain that it was a good start. In the summer we will finally send out an important signal for the transformation of the international fashion industry from our hometown with the Neonyt in full – I can hardly wait.”
Always in view of the installation: the focus themes Air, Water, Circularity and Social. Water & Air have played a key role for Neonyt in recent seasons. In addition, circularity was selected as one of the future topics of the industry and with social a special focus was placed on the people who work in the value chains.
More than just fashion: The contents of the fashion presentation went beyond the visual component, so the artistic staging of audio and sound recordings on facts and questions relating to sustainable fashion was accompanied and supported with large-format backgrounds. Following the Neonyt installation, visitors to Atelier Lihotzky were able to see the Fashion Council Germany (FCG) show “Continuous Love” with collections by Susumu Ai and other members of the FCG, which was implemented as the Frankfurt Stage.

Kickoff in Frankfurt am Main: With the fashion installation on January 18, 2022, Neonyt was able to offer a small foretaste of what the fair fashion industry can expect in Frankfurt in the summer. From July 5 to 7, 2022, the Main metropolis will be the place to be for the entire fashion industry as part of Frankfurt Fashion Week.
