Three injured in serious accident on N9 near Burgerbrug

At least three people were injured in a collision on the N9 near Burgerbrug after two cars collided head-on there. The cars are badly damaged and the road is closed.

It is not yet known how the accident could have happened. This is now being investigated.

A bystander said a person was trapped, but police cannot confirm this yet. The condition of the victims is unknown. It can be seen that many emergency services are ready for help, and a trauma helicopter has also landed.

Traffic is advised to detour.

More accidents

Serious accidents regularly occur on the N9, often resulting in (serious) injuries. For example, in September last a van with six occupants overturned near Sint Maartensvlotbrug. One of the passengers was injured. The driver had been drinking.

In October of that year there was a head-on collision between a car and a truck† a frontal collision between a truck and a passenger car near Bergen on February 1, 2021, one of those involved took his life. Another was seriously injured.

In September 2020 came a 33-year-old Juliana villager dead in – again – a head-on collision with a truck.
