A National Football Team hosted athletes with Down Syndrome



A National Football Team, which was in the camp at the facilities of the Turkish Football Federation in Riva for the UEFA Nations League matches, met with the athletes with Down Syndrome, who represented Turkey in the international championships in athletics and swimming branches and won many medals.


From athletes with Down Syndrome to the organization; 2015 World Down Syndrome Athletics Championships 3rd place in the world, 2019 European Champion and 2021 European 2nd place Merve Uzun, 2019 European Indoor Athletics Championships 2nd in Long Jump Furkan Demir, 2019 Shot Put 200 meters 2nd Rıdvan Yalçın, swimmer Hande Özyer, who won 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals at the 1999 World Olympics, Meltem Özkan, who won 2 bronze medals at the 1999 Olympics, and Dila Arınel, who won 87 gold medals in various championships.


Football players came to the evening training together with the athletes with Down Syndrome in connected vehicles. Athletes with Down Syndrome, who first made the pass with the football players on the field, had fun times. While the National Football Team was closely interested in the athletes, a national team jersey with their names was presented as a gift.
