Opinion | iPhone – NRC

I have been mocked, laughed at, by people who loved me. Cause? My Nokia phone. I loved the simplicity, the convenience, the size. But that didn’t matter. It was ‘necessary’ that I get a smartphone. At Christmas there was one for me under the tree.

Not that it went well. But now I could scroll in the tram and at the hairdresser just like everyone else.

My sense of joy just wouldn’t come. Until a week and a half ago, Prime Minister Rutte spoke in the parliamentary debate: “Now I mess around on an iPhone.”

Someone who understood me.
