A plane with 22 people on board is missing in Nepal. The plane of the private airline Tara Air disappeared on a domestic flight from Pokhara to Jomson.
Jomson is located 80 kilometers northwest of the highly touristic city of Pokhara. The city with 255,000 inhabitants is located about 200 kilometers from the Nepalese capital Kathmandu.
According to a spokesman for Tara Air, in addition to many Nepalese, at least four people with Indian nationality were on board, as well as two other foreigners.
Nepal has a history of many aviation accidents due to its extensive flight network, high mountain ranges and rapidly changing weather conditions. On the same route from Pokhara to Jomson, a Tara Air plane crashed into a mountain in February 2016. The 23 occupants were killed.
