‘True Love’: Kanye West releases song with XXXTentacion

Kanye West releases track “True Love” featuring late rapper XXXTentacion. The song originally appeared on DONDA 2, which released exclusively on Stem Player in February. In addition, the new documentary “Look At Me: XXXTentacion” is available in the United States since May 26th.

In “True Love”, Ye and X discuss the pain associated with hapless romantic relationships. “True Love” marks the third (posthumous) collaboration between the two artists, following “One Minute” and “Everything We Need”. XXXTentacion died on June 18, 2018 as a result of gunshot wounds.

New documentation

Columbia Records announced this week that the track will be featured on both West’s album DONDA 2 and the soundtrack LOOK AT ME: THE ALBUM for the upcoming documentary Look At Me: XXXTentacion. There is currently no information about the release date of the soundtrack.

The documentary premiered on May 26 on the Hulu streaming service. Since Hulu is only available in the US, fans of the rapper will have to wait for a release in German-speaking countries. However, you can watch the official trailer at the end of the article.

Artwork from diary entries

Ye created the song’s cover artwork himself. The lettering “LOVE LOVE LOVE”, “A FEELING YOU JUST CAN’T EXPLAIN” and “AM I SUPPOSED TO PRETEND TO BE HEARTLESS” were created by creating scans of XXXTentacion’s handwritten diary entries.

West opened the DONDA 2 event in Miami in February with “True Love”. In addition to Kanye West, Mike Dean, Ojivolta and John Cunningham were involved in the production.
