★★★1/2 The most interesting thing about this film about a poet and Nobel laureate who has an affair with a younger immigrant man is how it mixes melodrama (that genre where passion defies social conventions) with the most explicit (melodrama is a political genre, in fact). It is what we could call a “camera film”, if such a thing could be defined, due to its rhythm and its elements.
