Bolu camp of the A National Women’s Basketball Team has started



Competing in the FIBA ​​2023 Women’s European Championship Qualifiers, the National Women’s Basketball Team entered the camp in Bolu as part of the preparations.


The crescent-star team went to their first training session under the direction of head coach Ceyhun Yıldızoğlu at a hotel in Bolu Mountain, where they came for the camp work that will last until 20 June.


Starting the training with warm-up movements, the national team then practiced with the ball.


Head coach Ceyhun Yıldızoğlu told reporters before the training session that they started the camp with new players because they wanted to see those playing in the Ümit National Team and those with high form in the league.


Emphasizing that there are very special players in the national team pool that they did not invite here, but whose skills they are sure of, Yıldızoğlu said, “Hopefully, we started the camp in order to make the national teams fight for the podium as before. We will go to Istanbul after this camp. We will go to Istanbul for our training sessions here. “After reviewing our offensive and defensive strategy, we will go to Serbia. Then we will have bilateral contact matches with Japan in Istanbul. Our main goal is to reveal the traces of the Turkish Women’s National Team, which made its debut in the European arena again in the training camp here.” he said.


Expressing that they trust the player groups a lot, Yıldızoğlu explained that those who are in the camp and those who are outside form a strong national team pool.


Yıldızoğlu noted that they have started to work to reintroduce the national team that will compete at the highest level of Europe in the world championships and the Olympics.


YOUNG BASKETBALL PLAYERS WILL BE INTEGRATED


A National Women’s Basketball Team Manager Yasemin Horasan stated that they started the camp with 14 athletes.


Stating that the players of the Under-20 National Team also participated in the Bolu camp, Horasan expressed the following views:


“There will be a camp period in which younger people will be integrated, who can be added to our team in the coming period, where we can assemble young people next to our experienced players and see how we can take our steps. Today we are just starting. We hope to have a successful camp period where we can fulfill our goals. Going to the 2023 European Basketball Championship. “We are aiming to complete an important preparation camp for our name. We will also have double training sessions in our camp. We will also have strength training within the scope of our technical team’s plans. According to the intensity of the trainings, our technical team will evaluate them and prepare a program accordingly.”


The national team in Group D in the FIBA ​​2023 Women’s European Championship Qualifiers; It is battling Poland, Slovenia and Albania. The crescent-star team, which won its first 2 matches in the group, is in the lead.


In the first match of the qualifiers, the national team defeated Slovenia 78-62 away, and in the second match, they defeated Poland 52-41 in Kocaeli. Nationals will face Albania on November 24 and Slovenia on November 27.


In the qualifiers, there are 38 teams in 10 groups, 8 of which are quads and 2 are triples. There will be 10 group winners and 4 best group runners-ups in the organization where the host countries Israel and Slovenia will directly participate. In groups of four teams, the result of the matches with the last team will not be taken into account.
