More heart tests for ex-BVB star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Former BVB goalscorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should first undergo medical examinations after his return from the Africa Cup of Nations at Arsenal, coach Mikel Arteta announced.

According to the Gabon Football Association, Aubameyang and compatriot Mario Lemina were sent back to Europe because of heart problems after a corona infection.

However, there had also been reports that the two professionals had been excluded for misconduct.

Aubameyang had rejected this on Twitter, and Lemina, who plays for OGC Nice, also objected to the allegations.

“We have no clarity from the federation. It is our duty to medically ensure that the player is safe,” said Arteta.

Examinations required at Africa Cup of Nations

According to the Gabon federation, something unusual has been found in the hearts of both national players, it was announced on Facebook on January 14.

Any player who was previously infected with Corona at the continental tournament must complete a medical examination before returning.

The Africa Cup of Nations takes place in Cameroon until February 6th.
