Ferrari won’t get Jean Todt back as was widely rumored last month, when the Frenchman stepped down from the FIA presidency. Whoever was the head of the Scuderia in the golden age of Michael Schumacher , together with the ‘brain’ Ross Brawn, will not return to Maranello by decision of the company’s president, John Elkann.

There was talk that once his long stage at the head of the FIA ended, which he arrived in 2009, Todd could reconnect with his old team occupying an advisory role, similar to the one he held until this week Alain Prost in Alpine or once practiced Niki Laudto in Mercedes.

However, this possibility has not convinced Elkann, which, according to Il Corriere della Sera, has ruled out the signing of Todt as it did not see the need for him to play a decisive role in the team, immersed in the challenge of trying to return to the front row of the grid to fight for victories and podiums with his young tandem of pilots, the man from Madrid Carlos Sainz and the Monegasque charles leclerc, who by the way has as representative the son of Todt, Nicolas.

On October 23, 2009, Jean Todt was appointed president of the International Automobile Federation, replacing Max Mosley, thus ending a long career at Ferrari (1993-2008).
