Premier League – Klopp: Make up for missed league title in the premier class

Liverpool (AP) – After just missing out on the championship title with Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp is optimistic about the future and wants to continue chasing trophies with the Reds.

“What I’ve learned in life is that if you keep at it, if you keep going, you’ll be rewarded,” said the Liverpool coach. “No maximum reward today. But we’ll get it. It’s about moving on and we will.”

As in 2019, Liverpool finished the season in second place, just one point behind Man City, missing the chance of a quadruple with four titles. After the League Cup and the FA Cup, the Reds can also win the Champions League next Saturday. “Obviously losing the league today increased our drive to make up for it next week,” said the 54-year-old. In Paris it’s against Real Madrid.

Klopp does not believe that it is a good omen that Liverpool won the final of the premier class in 2019 after just missing out on the championship title. “These competitions have nothing to do with each other,” said the popular coach. “This season is absolutely amazing and it’s not over today, it’s over next week and we’re going to try absolutely everything.”
