In Paris, Tallon Greek Rail immediately handed over its business card. The debutant at Roland Garros beat the much higher placed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in four sets in four sets: 2-6, 6-0, 6-4, 6-3.
The 25-year-old Nieuw-Venneper played at all Grand Slams (Wimbledon, Australian Open and US Open) in the main tournament, but not yet on the clay in Paris. His debut at Roland Garros seemed to be short-lived, because in the first set Greek track was no match for the number 28 in the world. The North Hollander lost 6-2.
Greek track then recovered excellently against the Spaniard. The second set won the number 54 in the world convincingly with 6-0. The third set was super exciting and went to Greek track 6-4. In the last set, the Nieuw-Venneper was able to continue the line and was too strong with 6-3.
