Titan has been crowned champion in the Fourth Division D this afternoon. One point was enough against number two Gasseltenijveen, but took the full loot at home with a monster victory: 5-0
Like so many championship matches, this one by VV Titan was of a low level in the first half. The first chance was for the visitors, where a header by Hommes just went wide. Then, as so often this season, there was the goal of Titan by Harm Jan Moesker. He created a meter of space for himself on a spiraling free kick and sent his header into the far corner, defeating keeper Kevin Koops: 1-0.
In the second half, everything turned to gold for Titan. The team scored with a hat-trick by Julian Bruining and a goal by Jos Smidt, creating a big party for the supporters present.
After the final whistle, the party started for the players and the fans. The championship shirts and champagne were pulled out of the cupboard and the flat cart was ready. Gasselternijveen did not participate in the revelry, because due to the defeat, the club no longer has direct promotion in its own hands. Gasselternijveen is now dependent on the results of Schoonebeek. That club won its game today against DSC ’65.
