The accident happened just before one on the A2 in the direction of Eindhoven, between the exit to the provincial government and ramp N279.
The driver of the delivery van ended up with his vehicle on the back of the truck and was trapped by the collision, writes BN DeStem. Three ambulances, the fire brigade and a trauma helicopter were called.
The fire service was able to free the driver. The man was seriously injured, but was conscious when emergency services took him away. The truck driver escaped unharmed.
The truck had just been loaded with 33 tons of cream in Veghel and was completely empty. The cargo had a value of approximately 80,000 euros. This caused slippery road conditions. The cleaning work will take a while, writes BN DeStem. The parallel carriageway of the A2 is therefore closed to other traffic from exit N279 to the exit to the provincial government.
