The Schwarz Group, which includes the retail chains Lidl and Kaufland, significantly increased its sales in the 2021 financial year. As the company announced on Thursday in Neckarsulm (Heilbronn district), sales rose by 6.6 percent to 133.6 billion euros – after 125.3 billion euros last year.
According to the group, Lidl increased its branch sales by 4.7 percent to 100.8 billion euros. Kaufland increased its revenue by 7.4 percent to 27.3 billion euros. Together, the two retail chains have more than 13,300 branches.
A total turnover of 1.7 billion euros was achieved online. The reporting date for the balance sheet was February 28, 2022. According to the Schwarz Group, around 550,000 employees work for the group. Previously, the “Heilbronner Voice” reported about it. (dpa)
