Last year there were 269,994 job students working through employment agencies. That is more than 40,000 more than in 2020, when there were 228,896 temporary worker job students at work. The full number of job students is even higher: only 42.6 percent of job students were active through an employment agency.
This difference was particularly evident in the third quarter, during the summer holidays. The corona crisis had something to do with this, but an increase can also be seen compared to 2019. In the summer of 2021, 6,646 job students were employed more than in the same period in 2019.
Before the summer of 2022, it is still unclear how many job students will start working through employment agencies. Due to the slowdown in the economy on the one hand and the tight labor market on the other, it is difficult for Federgon to make predictions.
