Chemnitz had won the two duels in the main round as well as in the cup against Bayern. In the BBL quarter-finals, on the other hand, the Munich team was able to prevail with almost no problems. The first two periods of the game were 18:15 and 18:16 with a narrow lead. But then the provincial capitals put down a 24:9 run. In the last quarter (17:13) they secured victory.

The Bavarian basketball team is thus leading 1-0 in the playoff series. Game two continues in Munich on Sunday (March 15, 8:30 p.m.). Whoever wins three games in best-of-five mode reaches the semi-finals.
