Murderer gets handcuffed, stabs driver and hijacks prison bus: police hold manhunt | Abroad

In Texas, police are on a manhunt for a killer who managed to escape from a prisoner transport. Gonzalo Lopez (46) released his handcuffs and got into the driver’s cage. How he did all that is not clear, but he stabbed the man in his hand with a sharp object.

According to some reports, Lopez briefly sat at the wheel of the bus. It eventually ran off the road, after which Lopez was the only prisoner to walk. Police are now conducting a manhunt in a rural area of ​​farms between Houston and Dallas.

Lopez is serving a life sentence for attempted murder and a 2005 murder. He was convicted in 2006.
